Before we make the cross country move, I figured it was important to get the Peanut to at least one game at Fenway. Unfortunately, her experience was very much like my first trip to Fenway with the Sox blowing a lead late and losing a key game in the heart of the playoff race. On the bright side, we got an early start on our tour of all MLB stadiums.

Ironically, this enormous tree came down because the ground/roots were so wet that a calm breeze was able to knock it over. Weight of the tree crushed the car roof and popped all four tires. It’s a bummer, it seemed like a very old (and large) tree that was actually in pretty good health.

Buff’s Pub, Watertown, MA. I recommend the Honey Hot Boneless and Fried Pickles.

Four years back in Boston and hands down the best wings I’ve had.

Rebirth of a Weekend Ritual.
I haven’t felt good on a Saturday morning while in Boston in a while. Between my recent battle with The Plague and travel, I haven’t had time to sit and read/eat at my friendly neighborhood bakery. It feels very relaxing to be back.
This despite the fact that I still have 300 pages to go in my book.

Honking

I can hear it coming over from Roxbury. I’m sure it’s going on everywhere, but I imagine it’s a little bit louder over there.

Ballot Measures

#1 was defeated. Phew.

Nothing like the threat of making your home state insolvent in the midst of a financial crisis to make you feel just a wee bit nervous.

Looks like #2 is slated to pass. I think this is a good thing and not because I’m getting high every night of the weak. Criminalization of marijuana use might be the biggest scam since the engagement ring (actually, not sure which came first). Tobacco and Alcohol lobbies have kept up the pressure to keep it as a felony for years. Looks like MA and MI are going to get over the hump.

Not sure what’s up with #3.

Dog

If Barry gets elected, I’m getting a dog by year end…I don’t care what I have to do to convince the undecideds. It’s destiny: I’m meant to have a pup. I’m going to call him “Cam”…if you are creative, you can figure out where the name comes from.

Off to a Slow Start

The one thing about carpooling is waiting for your passengers can lead to delays. Plenty of time remains in the day, but I’d like to get going. Sheesh, where’s the sense of excitement and earnestness?

Hotties in the ‘Hood

As I stand here in line, I am astounded by all if the very attractive women around me. I have never seen any of them around my neighborhood, and it’s not that big. Seriously, where have they been?

And they all have awesome dogs. This must be good karma for voting. Do my civic duty and find out that I live in a neighborhood loaded with nice looking ladies who love dogs.

Fantastic.

From the Land Where Votes Don’t Matter.
Even here in MA, we have lines around the block at voting places (including mine). While there are some propositions on the ballot that could get people to the polls, I think maybe we are entering a new era of civic involvement.
I like it.
